Amazon stopped giving its workers hazard pay in June. Even though its frontline workers keep showing up for work so the rest of us can shop safely from home as the coronavirus pandemic surges on.
Meanwhile, in the three months after it stopped paying hazard pay to its workforce — July, August, and September — Amazon made $6.3 billion in profits. That’s three times what it made in profits during the same period last year.
And, according to Forbes — with the coronavirus ravaging America — Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ personal net worth increased by $66 billion just from April to September of this year.
You are the richest person on Earth. And your company is raking in profits — in part because more of us are shopping online to help limit the spread of the coronavirus. Yet you stopped paying your workers hazard pay months ago. Reinstate hazard pay for Amazon workers right now!
