U.S. Sens. Chris Van Hollen and Sherrod Brown, and U.S. Rep. Don Beyer have introduced the Millionaires Surtax Act – to be paid by the richest 0.2% – that would begin to close the gap between the rich and everyone else and allow us to fund new investments that benefit working families.
Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Jimmy Gomez have sponsored the For The 99.8% Act, which exempts the first $3.5 million of estates from taxation while closing loopholes and progressively raising rates on the largest estates, particularly those over $1 billion.
