The draft of “SA Climate Ready: A Pathway for Climate Action and Adaptation” (San Antonio’s climate plan) has been released, but Mayor Nirenberg postponed a vote to adopt the plan until October, 2019.
While this delay is unfortunate, it gives us a chance to improve the plan. The plan crafted by the city and its consultant falls well short of what is needed to take meaningful action on climate change, so we need to speak up and strong action that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions while improving quality of life in San Antonio.

"I'm calling to ask that you strengthen the SA Climate Ready plan and adopt it as quickly as possible. Climate change is happening right now, and our community is already feeling the impacts of hotter summers, more drought and worse flooding. The science is clear that large reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are needed to avoid the worst of the climate crisis."
