Give Amtrak Riders Back Their Rights

Amtrak receives more than $2 billion a year in taxpayer funding. 

And it still stripped its customers of the right to their day in court. 

If customers have been ripped off, discriminated against or injured due to unsafe conditions, their complaint will be decided outside of the public eye in a forum that Amtrak chooses.

That’s not right. 

You should be able to hold Amtrak accountable in court for wrongdoing or harm it does to you.

Amtrak has added a forced arbitration clause to its ticket buying process. 

Given its position within the federal government and the fact that it receives billions in taxpayer dollars, Amtrak should be leading the way when it comes to customer-friendly policies. 

Please co-sponsor new legislation from Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Conor Lamb that will give millions of riders back their rights.
