U.S. workers often suffer from heat exhaustion, which can escalate to heat stroke and even death.
Climate disruption is rapidly increasing this hazard.
Heat can affect everyone — from workers laboring outside in the hot sun to those who lack ventilation indoors.
Fortunately, the solution is straightforward: access to water, rest breaks, and shade or climate control.
But most employers won’t provide these basic needs voluntarily.
To mark the first week of summer, join us in urging the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to write a rule requiring employers to protect workers from extreme heat.
Please consider personalizing your message to OSHA.
